Changing Table Makeover...

One of the things we have waited to get for Oliver was a changing table. We have spent the first five weeks using one half of his crib with a changing pad instead. This has been really convenient, except for the fact that you have to lean inside our keep-the-cat-out tent which is over the crib. I get backaches after every diaper change. So we again reminded ourselves that we needed a changing table. I wanted to buy one used though, and there were barely any for sale that matched the crib and bed. So we thought perhaps we would buy one used. Then our sister in law offered hers, as they were changing their room layout and couldn't fit it. It wasn't the right color, but Jordan offered to redo it so it would match.

Here is the table before he started to redo it.

Here is the finished product. He first disassembled the entire table and sanded it. Then he repainted the changing table and finally he reinforced each of the bottom shelves with a piece of conduit- the edges of which he flattened. The shelves were rather flimsy before. He also reinforced the top actual changing table area.

Here it is partway set up...

A glimpse of our closet, now beginning to fill up with adorable BOY clothes. :)

The changing table is so much cuter with a baby on it! :)
