A couple weeks ago, a very exciting package arrived in the mail- a pedal bike! We opened it immediately and Jordan and Oliver put it together and took it for a spin. Oliver has had a push bike for about two years and is quite balanced and speedy on it. The push bike is two wheels like a pedal bike, but has no pedals. It requires the child to learn balance using their feet to propel them along, so it helps them get going on a pedal bike very quickly. Once Oliver was very confidant on his push bike, we decided it was time to look for a pedal bike. He took it for two rides with the training wheels, just to get him used to the new feel of the bike (these pictures are from the first) and then we pulled the training wheels off and got him going on his own. After a couple frustrating rides learning how to get himself started, Oliver is now riding like a pro up and down our driveway and path!
Helpers!
Can't resist some photos of golden curls and brown eyes...
Freedom!!!!
Hope you enjoyed these. Soon I will post some of Oliver riding his bike. So far, I haven't brought a camera as it is too hard to keep up with him!
One more milestone on the journey of "growing up"!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Oliver!!!
